Job Title: Survey Engineer
Location: Bordon, Hampshire, UK
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (office-based), with offshore work required during survey operations
Salary: Competitive base salary + offshore uplift (based on up to 90 days offshore per annum)

Overview

Our client, a well-established player in the offshore survey industry, is looking for a Survey Engineer to join their team based in Bordon, Hampshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an electrical or electronic engineering background who is looking to move into the offshore sector. While previous experience in the offshore survey industry is beneficial, it’s not essential—what matters is a technical mindset, flexibility, and a willingness to work offshore when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare survey equipment ahead of mobilisation, including workshop setup and functionality testing
  • Pack and document survey equipment for deployment, ensuring all items are accounted for with serial numbers and descriptions
  • Mobilise and demobilise equipment on site, assisting in data acquisition during offshore surveys
  • Conduct maintenance and repairs on equipment both onshore and offshore
  • Ensure all equipment is checked, labelled, and returned to stores post-survey in line with company procedures
  • Install software and firmware updates, perform calibrations, and maintain specific tools
  • Support training of new team members
  • Maintain a clean and organised workshop and storage area
  • Adhere to all HSE and QA management systems and policies
  • Always uphold safe working practices
  • Carry out any additional duties reasonably required by the company

Candidate Profile
  • Electrical or electronic engineering experience (qualification or practical)
  • Willing and able to work offshore during operations
  • Practical, hands-on approach with good problem-solving skills
  • Adaptable, reliable, and team-oriented
  • Strong communication and a willingness to learn

This is a fantastic chance to join a respected company in a role that offers real development potential and valuable offshore experience. Full training will be provided.
